Support for parents

How can we help?

SLC Therapy provides services within Halifax, West Yorkshire, and some surrounding areas. SLC Therapy offers support to children of primary and secondary school age, with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties. Sessions typically take place at, and in collaboration with, your child’s school. Telehealth and appointments in your home can also be arranged. The frequency of visits is flexible and depends on your child’s individual requirements and this will be discuss and agreed with you. Sessions may range from weekly or fortnightly sessions to occasional visits. Please let us know if your child is already seeing an NHS therapist. With your consent, SLC Therapy can liaise with the therapist to make sure your child receives effective, consistent treatment. We can help:

Advocacy

Families ensure their child’s needs are understood and met by providing expert assessment and advice, attending meetings and help navigating support systems.

We also empower young people to advocate for themselves by building confidence to express their needs, seek help, and communicate effectively in school and social settings, empowering children to take an active role in their own support and development.
